Here's some content from my website! This content is italicized. I still don't know the material difference between that and the "em" tag. This content is bolded.
If I go to a new paragraph, does that include a space, or do I need to add a blank paragraph in between the paragraphs to space them out (or maybe this is a CSS styling choice -- how much space after a paragraph do I need?)
Update: I tested this and it does in fact add a space after the paragraph, nothing needed by me.
In theory someday I'd like to understand how to use cookies in JS. I think that would be both neat and useful. Although then I'd have to add one of those annoying cookies bars.
I wonder how you make a table. I feel like I used to know that.
Googled it. As follows, a table on tables:
| HTML Abbreviation (for Tables) | What It Does | Short For |
|---|---|---|
| table | makes a table | "table" |
| tr | starts a new row | "table row" |
| th | makes a header item in the row | "table header" |
| td | adds a regular data item | "table data" |
Holy crap that's annoying to do, now I know why websites were so simplistic in the 90s.
And Brackets means I don't have to type half the HTML elements. Oh my god.
Pretty sure you make lists similarly to tables, where "list" is the overall tag and then "li" stands for "list item".
CSS next. Let's make this look WEIRD.
CSS update: CSS itself is weird. I've got lists and tables in the same block so they match styles, but the padding for tables is not also working for lists. Blugh blugh blugh.
It is fun to make just an absolutely terrible-looking site though.
CSS update: I had to define styling for list items ("li"s) separately for some reason, even though that was not the case for any table item.
CSS update: Cannot for the life of me figure out how to center a table on the page.
